Review: Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser

This product is all the hype right now, so I had to buy it. Now, I don't really know why because luckily I don't have big/huge pores but I could use a primer so, I thought I would give it a go.
If your looking for an affordable pore minimizer/primer this would be the one to go to.
ahhh... there is so much to say where do I start?

okay, first this is a silicon based gel. It's transparent and unscented and the consistency is very velvety. It's also mattifying which I love. Also, a little goes a long way so this tube could last you for months.

I would have to say though, that this product would benefit people with small to med pores rather than someone with larger pores. I used it on my boyfriend (he has larger pores) and it didn't seem to minimize his at all. Maybe if we put foundation over it, but I don't think he would have been up for that! lol

Now, as far as primer goes, this is great. If you're a girl that's into full coverage (liquid foundation and powder) then it's perfect for you because it creates a smooth canvas for your foundation routine. With this product on as a primer, blending becomes a much easier job.

If your a girl that doesn't like to wear foundation but you want to have a smooth look with less pores, I would recommend using this and then using a finishing powder over it.

So, my final thoughts on this is yes, it's good for people with smaller pores but unfortunately  not for the people with larger ones. Yet, they can still use it under foundation as a primer.
I think it works well as a primer and the price is very affordable (about 7 dollars).

Leave me a comment if you have tried it and let me know what you think about it!

Random Eyeliner Reviews

Okay, there are a MILLION, if not more, eyeliners to choose from nowadays,
so I thought I would go through my makeup and give you some reviews on the ones that I have.

These are honest reviews of the liners I have used. So, if I didn't like it, im gonna let ya know!

okay, the first one I came across was the Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner
in black onyx 200. $7

I have been using this one for maybe 10 years. WOW I didn't realize that until now. Recently I've been going off the beaten path and using different and a little more high end liners, but this one is always a go to. It's about 7 dollars and you can find it anywhere. It's a twist up, so you don't have to sharpen.
It really does glide on smoothly BUT it does smudge some. Probably a lot if your eyes water. Its great for your upper lid. Im going to give this a 4 out of 5 though, I would recommend you give it a try to see if it works for you.

Next is the ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in black.$1

Oh what to say about this one. Well, basically I hate it. I didn't want to but I had to. It was really awesome the first time I tried it but after that I don't know what happened. This has a felt tip but it was a little on the stiff side. The color intensity wears off pretty quickly, So you have to reapply. Does anyone really want to do that? NOPE. I had this for about 3 weeks and by then it was dried up. Oh well, it was only 1 dollar. I'm going to give this a 2 out of 5

Next is the ELF Liquid Eyeliner in black $1

This one is also 1 dollar. This one is pretty good. You basically have to learn to like it. I needed to be extra careful applying it, because it has tendency to smudge a lot. It dries pretty quickly on the eyelids and it is a very vibrant black. It does have good staying power. I would say you could get 8 or 9 hours out of it and that's pretty dang good. Im going to give this one a 4 out of 5.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
in black

The formulas on these eyeliners are amazing, I don't think I have ever tried one like this. They are so creamy, pigmented, and long lasting it will blow your mind. You have to sharpen these but thats okay. They cost 19 dollars. Sort of a splurge but Urban Decay is a very good brand with a cult following, so what's that tell ya? Their products are amazing. They also have a TON of other colors. Im going to give this a 5 out of 5!

OKay without going into a huge review, here's a list of some other liners I like and don't like

LIKES
Stilla Smudge Pot $20

NYX Slide on Pencil $8
VERY comparable to the UD 24/7 liners

DISLIKES

Wet n Wild Color Icon $1.49

Any eyeliner that comes in a cheap makeup set. HATE THOSE!

Well, that's about it. I have tons and tons more but I basically wanted to give you some that I like and didn't like. Hope it helps if your looking for a new liner.

Review: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil + Smokey Eyes Palette

I love love love NYX makeup so I wanted to do a review on two of their products that I own and let you know what I think.

First let me tell you about NYX if you haven't heard of it. It's hard to say whether this is a drugstore or high end brand but it's trusted and highly spoken about by most makeup professionals. They have really really good quality makeup with probably the best packaging I've seen. The prices are a little more than your average drugstore brands but less than the big makeup brands we know.

You can find nyx at www.ulta.com or
 http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/

Also, I want to add when I went to their website and signed up they sent me an email to receive 25% off my first order! Right now they have free shipping on orders over 25 dollars so check it out.

OKAY lets get started.

First, I wanted to do a review on the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil. The one I'm reviewing is in the color Milk. $4.50
After seeing all the RAVES on this product and especially the milk one I had to try it. I don't even use things like these really and I most certainly don't use white eyeliner or shadow. Still, I got it. WOW, is all I have to say. No wonder this is a top seller. I can not believe the smoothness and the color payoff this thing has. A long time ago I seen where you could use white eyeliner in your water line to make your eyes look bigger, prettier whatever. Every time I bought a white liner it wouldn't show up. That's really why I was hesitate to purchase this. This white is almost TO white. lol
Here's a swatch so you can see.

The consistency is so creamy but not so creamy it runs and smudges everywhere on your face.

You can use this has a shadow or even a base for shadow! I tried it that way a few times and it works great. Also, this color is really pretty in the corner of the eye (tear duct area). Just dab it on and smooth with your fingers. Really, there are so many uses for this!

I could only imagine what the other colors are like! So, I plan on using the 25% code I got and making an order. If any of you have tried any other colors let me know which ones I should try.

I give this pencil a 5 out of 5! Can't wait to try other colors!

Next up for review is the Nyx For Your Eyes Only Smokey Eyes Palette

I needed a good neutral eye shadow palette but I didn't want to spend 30 dollars. So, this is what I chose and I'm glad I did! This is a great palette. I love the size as well, its not a huge palette, you could defiantly put this in a purse and it wouldn't get in the way. And, again, I like the packaging.

I can't find this one on the site but I think it was around 12-15 dollars when I bought mine.

It has a decent amount of colors. Whether you want to go dramatic or more of a subtle look, you're covered. It has a blend of textures and that's why I really like this palette. I like the matte finishes it has but it has some shimmery shades for you ladies that like to shine. haha. that was stupid. The shadows are really soft and smooth and they blend pretty well. Using a primer, I got about 6 hours of wear out of it which is pretty good. Comes off easy with makeup remover, I just use makeup wipes.
Here are some swatches I did.

without primer
this isn't all the colors.

Here are some swatches using primer underneath
I'm taking these with a laptop so I don't think the pictures are doing justice.

All in all I give this palette a 4 out of 5. I think it's worth checking out!

That's all the reviews I have today. If anyone has any NYX products they think I should try, leave me a comment and let me know. I'm going to be making an order in a about a week,so I'll post what I got and do some more reviews!

Thanks for checking this out!

7 Lush Products for Beginners

Hello! My name is Lesley and I want to tell you about my new favorite obsession Lush Cosmetics!

If you don't know anything about Lush your missing out!

They are a fantastic company that make handmade and fresh cosmetics (mainly bath and skin products, although they recently have came out with a makeup line.)

If you want to know more about them check their website out.

OK. lets get started on the 7 things I think you should get if your going to be shopping at Lush for the first time.

Number 1- A bath bomb

They have an assortment of bath bombs. This one happens to be my favorite(so far, im still trying them out) Twilight. Its wonderful it smells of lavender and ylang ylang. Oh I love it! You drop it in your bath water and it starts fizzing and frothing into this beautiful blue color. It will make you feel so relaxed when you get out of the tub and you'll smell soo good for HOURS. ahhh.... I just love it dang it.

                                                              Number 2- Bubble Bars

I mean look at that! If you want loads of bubbles that smell freaking insanely amazing then you want a bubble bar. They have so many to choose from and the one above is called The Comforter. It smells of black current. Its so fruity. One of these bars will cost you around 10 bucks but you could easily get 4 or 5 baths out of it. Mind you this is the most expensive one so if you don't feel good about spending that much there are cheaper choices. So. Go try one Now. :)

                                                                  Number 3- Soap

Soap baby soap. Yeah soap. Its what their FAMOUS for. If you want a great smelling soap, you need Lush in your life.

They have a whole range of soaps. Some with cool little additives like sand, oats, seaweed, the list goes on....And cool names. My favorite would be Honey I Washed the Kids. hahaha great name i know. It smells of honey and toffee. Ahhhh its gooood.

                                                           Number 4- Shampoo Bars

Yes, you heard me a shampoo BAR. What a cool idea right? Now, I have only tried one but with the results I have had with it Im sure the others are just as good. The one I have is Godiva.

From the Lush site-
moisturizing nut oils and shea butter. These butters and oils care for dry, processed locks and leave you with glossy, shiny, and softened tresses. Long used as a tonic for the hair and scalp, jasmine also perfumes your locks with an ultra-sexy fragrance with serious staying power.

So, here's my tip ladies, I use this to SHAVE with. I'm not sure what made me do it but I was in the bath and I decided I was going to rub it on my legs and just try it out. I swear I have never felt my legs so smooth in my life. I couldn't believe it. So, it is now my shaving cream. lol

Number 5- Facial Cleaners

Man, what can I say about these? Well, I know one thing my face hasn't looked and felt this way ever! I use Angels on Bare Skin. Here is what they say about it on their site-

For heavenly soft and balanced skin, take a smidge of Angels on Bare Skin, mix with a little water and massage in. The kaolin clay base deep cleanses while ground almonds gently exfoliate the dead skin away. Rose and lavender are added to soothe and help balance out combination skin.

Now, tell me.....does that sound like a cleanser you could get at your local drug store? The one I bought was only 13 dollars and it has lasted me a loooong time and I still have half left.

Number 6- Body Lotions
These are one of the most expensive things you could get but PEOPLE read the reviews for Dream Cream. I want to throw myself in a pool of this stuff. I have heard wonderful things for people who have eczema and used this.

8.4 oz can cost you around 30 dollars! I have NEVER spent that much on a lotion before. Let me tell you, I will buy this stuff forever!

Here is what the site says about Dream Cream.

It has oat milk, lavender and chamomile to care for irritations, reduce redness, and banish blotches. Olive oil and cocoa butter are perfectly suited and incredibly effective for dry or chapped skin, and especially gentle for even the most sensitive types.

This is also their number one selling product ever....what does that tell ya? GO get some! lol

Number 7- Dusting Powders
Silky Underwear baby lol. Now this stuff is the bees knees. Oh come on, you don't have to use it in your underwear.

From the site-

Grated cocoa butter melts onto the skin for a silky sensation, and the absorbent powders make sure your body doesn't feel greasy. In fact, it helps your clothes go on more easily or even better, slip off easier. With the sexy jasmine and vetivert scent that clouds you in aphrodisiac fragrance it’s been known to happen.

I like to use it when I get out of the tub, a little sprinkle here and a little there and BAM your all good. I just love it!

Shew, that about all I have to say today. I hope this wasn't to long and I hope it gave someone a good look at things to consider buying if their planning on doing a Lush haul. You won't regret if you do!

I want to remind everyone that these are just the products I have used and that work well for me. I'm still on a mission to try loads more from Lush and I will keep you updated on my journey.

EOS vs. Baby Lips

I wanted to give you my opinion on a couple lip balms I have been using lately. If you haven't been living under a rock lately you know that EOS and Maybelline's Baby Lips are constantly competing for the number one spot.

EOS (Evolution of Smooth) is currently number one in sales. They have cute little egg looking packaging and a variety of flavors, they're hard to resist. Flavors like sweet mint, strawberry sorbet, summer fruit and many more you can't go wrong.

I prefer sweet mint. It gives you a little tingle when you apply and it smells so good.
I can say it's pretty good at moisturizing your lips but If you have really chapped lips I don't think they would cure it. If your just looking for a regular lip balm that's smooth and tasty then go for it.

Also, I have to say, they are pretty cute when you store them in a little glass container or something of that sort it your bathroom.... anyway, that's what I do. :)

Kind of blurry, but you get the point.

To find out more about EOS check their site out here. http://evolutionofsmooth.com/

So now on to Baby Lips. The packaging is very different, just a typical balm stick. Baby lips have more flavors to choose from though. Also, with baby lips you have the option of choosing one with a tint to it.

I love the cherry one. It's the perfect tint color if you want something that shows but is also subtle.
They are more moisturizing than EOS and I feel like you might get more product although I can not be certain because I haven't used all mine up yet.

They're supposed to moisturizes lips for a full 8 hours and renew lips in 1 week. I believe if you have chapped or dry lips that you could see a difference in a week for sure. So give them a try!

For really chapped and dry lips that need extra care try their Dr. Recue line of baby lips with up to 12 hours of hydration.  I haven't tried this kind but I thought id add this for anyone needing more hydration for their lips. :)

To find out more about Baby Lips go here... http://www.maybelline.com/products/lip-makeup/lip-balm/baby-lips.aspx

So this is my verdict: I love them BOTH!
I think anyone should try them and see which they prefer. They are not expensive and you can find them at any drugstore, walmart, target and so on...

I find myself reaching for my eos sweet mint one the most for some reason but I love the tint that the cherry baby lips gives.

If you have tried them let me know which you prefer or if you think there is a better brand out there. I love trying new things out!

Thanks for checking this out!
